It's on the Money!
Saturday 20th October 2018, The Evo-Stik League South – Division One South Attendance 102
Mangotsfield United…0 Moneyfields FC…4
After an even first half, and following a big improvement in recent weeks, The Mangos fell apart after the break, and conceded poorly against a well-drilled and organised Moneyfields. In the opening stages, a cross to the far post was just too high for Louis Britton, and he was unable to put any power behind his close-range header.
Moneyfields’ Lewis Fennemore went very close as he stretched to reach a through ball, and moments later, Mangos’ Tom Warren made a timely stop as a low cross threatened. Adam Kelly went near with a turn and snap shot, but it was ‘The Money’s who took the lead in the 23rd minute. It was against the run of play. A high ball into the box looped over the Mangos defence, leaving Steve Hutchings unmarked in plenty of space for an easy goal from 6 yards. 0-1.
Kyle Tooze combined well with Michael Bryant & Luke Spokes in a sweeping move which brought a corner and moments later, a Moneys’ defender did well to head a fierce Jordan Williams drive off the line, onto the bar and away for another corner. A Kyle Tooze header at the far post, again from Jordan Williams, was only narrowly wide, and a volley from James Bloom brought a fingertip save from keeper Steve Mowthorpe.
Colin Mugoya-Tabingwa tried his luck from distance, but Moneyfields were defending well, and as the half-time whistle came, Mangotsfield had competed well, but were unable to find a way through

Approaching the hour mark, ‘Mangos forced three successive corners, but they were not winning the aerial challenges, as defenders Brett Poate and Jake Raine were dominant. Kyle Tooze pushed a through ball to Louis Britton but Steve Mowthorpe was quick to react and snuffed out the opportunity.
Sekani Simpson made a good block as ‘Moneys’ threatened and then in the 68th minute, the visitors doubled their lead. A long ball across the field found Lloyd Rowlatt totally unmarked on the left flank and he moved into the box and squeezed a low drive inside the near post under Lochlan Robertson. 0-2.
Mangos’ passing became erratic, giving the ball away too much and then in the 81st minute, Moneyfields scored a third. A low ball across the face of the goal was flicked home by Steve Hitchings, his second of the game, almost in slow motion as it found the opposide side of the net. 0-3.
The hosts were now in disarray and conceded a fourth in the 86th minute, as substitute, Matt Simm prodded the ball home from just a few yards out. 0-4
Mangotsfield had fallen away badly, leaving Manager Ollie Price very disappointed, that his side had not maintained their recent high standards.
