Mangotsfield United….1 Cinderford Town….1
Looking for a long-overdue victory, Mangotsfield had to settle for a point after going down to ten men for the second game in succession.
Cinderford looked sharp early on with Sammie Hicks just clearing the bar from 20 yards, but it was ‘The Field’ who took the lead after 11 minutes with a penalty from Simon Gilbert. Mangos ex-keeper Joe Perry brought down George Lloyd, and received a caution.
Lloyd had a good chance later, when he was in a one-on-one situation with Perry, but fired straight at the keeper. Perry also palmed a way a volley from Lloyd on the half-hour, and certainly was the busiest of the two keepers in the first-half.
A decent run and cross by Kane Simpson, set up Lloyd for a chance but again, Perry was equal to the task. Tom Warren saw his effort clip the post after 65 minutes, but the game was about to change.
A header from Danny Clare was tipped onto the bar by George Dorrington, and then Simon Gilbert was red-carded in the 69th minute, and Cinderford took advantage of their extra man.
The equaliser came in the 79th minute through Craig Norman and for the last ten minutes or so, Mangotsfield were struggling to hang on for the point, although in the last minute Cameron Allen forced Joe Perry into a good save.
