Once again hit by injuries, suspensions and unavailability Mangotsfield United's small squad was exposed.
Already without the services of long term injured Sam O'Sullivan, the suspended Karim Rendall and the unavailable Chris Humphries manager Phil Bater was also missing Matt Groves due to a back complaint.
Youth Team players Aysa Corrick and Jake Slocombe were promoted to the first team squad after impressing for the club's under eighteen side.
Within the opening minute Cinderford carved out what was to be their best chance of the first half, Dean Lee's mishit strike from the right edge of the area bobbling in front of Danny Greaves
who clawed the ball away at the foot of the left hand upright.
On fourteen minutes Nick McCootie who impressed against Mangotsfield last season showed a glimpse of his ability when winning the ball on the left side of the penalty area where he beat one challenge only for his right footed strike to curl wide of the far post.
Mangotsfield gradually worked their way into the match and with seventeen minutes played went close to taking the lead, Tom Knighton receiving the ball just outside the left edge of the six yard box where he spun his marker to test Ben John who blocked with his legs.
Midway through the first half Mangotsfield were denied by the woodwork after Sean Seavill's cross from the right was cleared as far as Geraint Bater who beat Ben John with a sweetly struck effort from twenty five yards which hit the top of the crossbar.
Minutes later Mitchell Page went close when getting on the end of Tom Knighton's cross from the left only to head a yard over.
With three minutes of the half remaining and Mangotsfield enjoying the better of things Mitchell Page was shown a straight red card for what appeared to be the use of an elbow when making an aerial challenge with Cinderford's Tom Archer.
In added time Daine O'Connor was dispossessed ten yards inside the Cinderford half allowing the hosts to counter attack, the ball being worked to Dean Lee who opted to take the chance early, shooting straight at Danny Greaves
from thirty yards.
At half time Phil Bater made the first of three substitutions handing Aysa Corrick his first senior start when replacing Daine O'Connor.
Just a minute into the second half poor defending deep in the Mangotsfield half allowed Cinderford's Nick McCootie to go past his man and make ground into the area only for his shot to be blocked and with the rebound falling to Dale Evans his follow up effort was kept out.
From the resultant corner the towering Lewis Sommers saw his back post header cleared off the line by Tom Billing.
In a rare moment of danger for the home side on forty nine minutes Sean Seavill broke from midfeld making thirty yards before testing Ben John with a shot from twenty two yards which the Cinderford goalkeeper turned away for a corner.
Cinderford went ahead on fifty one minutes after the Mangotsfield defence was opened up on the left allowing Nick McCootie time and space to cross to the back post for Dale Evans who side footed into an empty net from close range.
Five minutes later another deep corner from the left was once again met by the head of Lewis Sommers, this time guiding a header back across goal but wide the far corner.
"The Foresters" advantage was doubled on sixty six minutes when Mike Whittington
scored a minute after coming off the bench, exploiting a defensive error to run clear of Tom Billing and lift the ball over the advancing Danny Greaves
into an empty net.
Mangotsfield's second change of the afternoon came on seventy minutes as Tom Parrinello
replaced Sean Seavill.
Cinderford's third came on seventy one minutes, Danny Haines crossfield ball from left to right finding Lewis Sommers who after bringing the ball under control and coming inside fired in a left foot strike from twenty five yards which sailed past the outstretched arm of Danny Greaves
and into the top right corner.
The third and final change for Mangotsfield came on seventy nine minutes and saw a second youth team player make his first senior appearance for the club as Jake Slocombe was introduced coming on for captain Geraint Bater who earlier looked to have picked up a knock.
With the match petering out Mangotsfield created two late chances, on eighty seven minutes a free kick whipped into the penalty area was met by Gary Colborne whose flicked header was tipped over the bar.
Then in added time Colborne went close with another header, this time meeting a corner from the left at the back post with a diving header which went two yards wide.
