Thame return to Cossham Street

Today’s visitors, Thame United, have been away from the Southern League for eleven seasons, before reclaiming their place with last season’s impressive Hellenic Championship success.

There have only been two occasions when ‘The Field’ and Thame United have met. That was in the 2004/05 campaign when we won the Division One South & West and earned promotion to the Premier Division.
Both games ended in draws.

At Cossham Street it was 2-2 with David Seal & Paul Hunt scoring our goals. We gave debuts to Alan Bird & Matt Lock, and David Seal returned to the side after missing 19 games! Darren Moore & John Gardner scored for United.

It ended 3-3 at Thame, with, again, David Seal on target together with James Zabek and an own goal from John Gardner. We gave a debut to Tony Davis, and United’s goals came from John Mitchell (2), & Michael Death.

Current manager Mark West played in this game.

Today’s game is worth £3,000 to the winners and they will host either North Leigh or Wimborne Town in the First Qualifying Round on Saturday 28th October.
